Jefferson’s Assembly Brings Multi-Regional Business & Political Leaders Together in Bedford

The Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance and Chambers of Commerce from Altavista, Bedford, Botetourt, Danville, Montgomery, Roanoke, and Smith Mountain Lake present the political event of the year.

Jefferson’s Assembly is a social gathering that brings regional business, local government, economic development, transportation and workforce leaders for a collaborative vision that advances major economic and transportation projects that impact the Commonwealth. CBL Properties Continues Tradition of Closing on Thanksgiving Day

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. & ROANOKE, Va.,  (October 11, 2017) – CBL Properties, owner and manager of Valley View Mall, announced today that their portfolio of market-dominant regional shopping centers will close on Thanksgiving Day and open at 6:00 a.m. on Black Friday, November 24th.

“The support that we received last year when we made this decision was overwhelmingly positive,” said Stephen Lebovitz, President and CEO, CBL Properties, “It is based on this feedback from our retail partners, employees of CBL and retailers at our properties, as well as the customers in our markets that we made the decision to again close our centers on Thanksgiving Day.”

Department stores and retailers with exterior mall entrances will have the option to open their stores on Thursday. However, access to mall common areas will be restricted until 6:00 a.m. on Friday. Delta Dental of Virginia Announces New President & CEO

Frank LuciaROANOKE, Va.—(October 10, 2017)—Delta Dental of Virginia announced today that Frank Lucia will serve as the dental insurer’s new president and chief executive officer, effective November 13, 2017. Lucia succeeds George A. Levicki, who is retiring after 36 years of distinguished service.

Lucia was president and chief executive officer of Dean Health Plan in Madison, Wisconsin.

“We are excited to have Frank Lucia as our next president and CEO,” said Lyn Brooks, chairman of Delta Dental of Virginia board of directors. “His leadership experience, health and dental plan expertise and business acumen make him a good fit to lead Delta Dental of Virginia into the future.”

Levicki, who announced his impending retirement in March 2017, will work with Lucia to ensure a smooth transition and will be available as an advisor to the Company.

“The entire board thanks George for his leadership of Delta Dental of Virginia for more than three decades,” Brooks said. “He has transformed a fledgling dental insurance company that started in his predecessor’s garage and created a dynamic, multi-faceted organization that is well poised for the future. Lucia is an experienced health and dental insurance and business leader. Prior to serving in a variety of leadership roles at Dean Health Plan, he gained a broad range of relevant experience working for Price Waterhouse, WR Grace, Inc. and CIGNA Corporation, including Cigna Dental.  Lucia earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Binghamton University and his master’s degree of business administration from the University of Miami.

Jefferson College of Health Sciences Hosts Information Session for PA Program

ROANOKE, Va. (October 9, 2017) — Jefferson College of Health Sciences at Carilion Clinic, invites those interested in learning more about our Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant (PA) to attend an information session on Saturday, November 11, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The session will be in Room 616 on the Jefferson College campus at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital, 101 Elm Street SE, Roanoke, VA  24013.

At this event, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the program, the PA profession and how to apply. In addition, representatives from the Jefferson PA program will be on hand to speak individually with prospective students and their families. Please note that all sessions will begin promptly at 10 a.m.
