Vice President of Public Policy & Strategic Issues

Roanoke Regional Chamber seeks Vice President of Public Policy & Strategic Issues

The Vice President of Public Policy manages the Chamber’s public policy division and represents the Chamber and its members at the local, state and federal levels on public policy issues impacting the regional business community.

A bachelor’s degree in political science, public administration or related field required, a master’s degree a plus. Three to five years of recent experience in government relations and issues research. Substantive working knowledge of the lawmaking process at the local, state, and federal levels, and of key public policy issues impacting the regional business community. Strong communication and public relations skills required, including professional experience with social media platforms and MS Word. Exercise good judgment and discretion. The ability to present ideas written and orally in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner and to establish working relationships with policymakers at all levels of government. The ability to manage several deadlines with exceptional attention to detail. The ability to advocate in a non-partisan manner. Must be a team player.
