33rd Annual Small Business Awards

The accomplishments of the region’s best small businesses and not-for-profit organizations will be recognized in front of 400 attendees at the 33rd Annual Small Business Awards at the Taubman Museum of Art Tuesday, October 1, 2019.

New for 2019, the Small Business Awards program will recognize the top three finalists in 10 categories:

• Business-to-Business Services
• Business-to-Consumer Services
• Health & Wellness
• Tourism & Hospitality
• Micro-Business
• Wholesale/Retail
• Best New Business
• Legacy
• Not-for-Profit Organization of the Year

The winner of each for-profit category will go on to compete for the title of 2019 Small Business of the Year. Finalists and winners are selected by a committee of the region’s business and community leaders and industry experts.

In addition, we will recognize the Small Business Veteran of the Year. This is a person who has made a significant contribution to the local economy through ownership of a small business and has made a difference in the community by promoting a sense of duty and volunteerism.

Important changes for 2019:

All nominees will have the opportunity to complete an application. All nominees who submit an application will be recognized in print at the Small Business Awards program in the fall. Only the top three finalists in each category will be included in the Small Business Awards video presentation.

Companies and nonprofits that have won a category in the past three years are not eligible to compete in 2019. Not sure if your nominee has won in the past three years? You can still complete the nomination form!
