The 2018 session was anything but predictable. From the highly debated utility bill to the House proposal to expand Medicaid, the General Assembly kept us on our toes this year. And they aren’t finished yet…
The Governor will call lawmakers back on April 11 for a Special Session on the budget. As a reminder, the General Assembly adjourned as scheduled last week, but without a funding plan for the 2018-20 biennium.
Though there is uncertainty surrounding the budget, the General Assembly acted on thousands of bills this year, and you don’t want to miss the chance to hear first-hand how new policies will impact the business community.
Join us on March 28 from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. for breakfast and a panel discussion with our region’s delegation. We will ask our legislators to provide insight on bills related to transportation funding, electric utilities, GO Virginia, workforce development, healthcare accessibility and more. The panel will be moderated by WDBJ7’s Joe Dashiell.
Invited panelists include:
Senators Edwards, Newman, and Suetterlein, and Delegates Austin, Habeeb, Head, Hurst, Poindexter, Rasoul, and Rush
